All fire extinguishers need to be serviced and inspected annually to make sure they are in date, certificated and that they will work correctly and efficiently every time. With offices in Barnstaple and Newbury, we carry out Fire Equipment Maintenance in Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. As well as carrying out a thorough visual inspection (to check the extinguisher has not been tampered with), we inspect all parts of the extinguisher. We ensure that they’re properly pressure tested (hydrostatic testing) and recharged if applicable. Any fire extinguisher refills can also be carried out during maintenance. If we’re need to provide you with brand new fire extinguishers, we conduct the fire extinguisher commissioning on-site. And all fire extinguisher installations come with suitable mounting accessories or stands.

All our fire extinguisher servicing is carried out to BS5306 parts 3 and 8 by our in-house team of BAFE trained extinguisher service engineers. Rest assured that we can maintain any make and type of UK extinguishers. Infast Fire Protection Services pride themselves on fast response times and outstanding customer service.
Your fire extinguishers should be service every 12 months in accordance with BS 5306. It should always be conducted by adequately qualified professionals who have the correct training, tools and experience to ensure thorough checks and testing take place.
Most fire extinguishers have a lifespan of between 5 and 15 years depending on the type and manufacturer. So it’s essential that they are checked and replaced whenever necessary.
In addition to a yearly service, fire extinguishers also need an extended fire extinguisher service after 5 years. This is more comprehensive than the annual service (and monthly inspections). The service comprises everything in the annual service with the inclusion of the discharging the fire extinguisher. This allows our engineers to assess the fire suppressant material and the distance of its discharge. Any deviation from current standards will be flagged and rectification actions recommended. The only exception to this are CO2 Fire Extinguishers. As they are much higher pressure they only need to be fully serviced every 10 years (part of the reason they are the preferred choice of extinguisher for many businesses).
